Wikileaks – Clinton Aide’s Bigoted remark about Catholics/Evangelicals

 In opinion, Politics

Hillary Clinton’s  aides don’t aid her very much. Wikileaks released an email exchange between Jennifer Palmieri and John Halpin, cc’d to John Podesta, in which Palmieri rudely remarked against Catholics and Rupert Murdoch “bastardizing” the Christian faith because he had his children baptized in the Jordan River.

Jennifer Palmieri is the Clinton Campaign Director of communications. She communicated all right… and Catholics want her fired. John Halpin is a fellow at a liberal group called “Center for American Progress.”

Here is what she said in the email:

“I imagine they think it is the most socially acceptable politically conservative religion. Their rich friends wouldn’t understand if they became evangelicals.”

“Ken Auletta’s latest piece on Murdoch in the New Yorker starts off with the aside that both Murdoch and Robert Thompson, managing editor of the [Wall Street Journal], are raising their kids Catholic…Friggin’ Murdoch baptized his kids in Jordan where John the Baptist baptized Jesus.”

“It’s an amazing bastardization of the faith. They must be attracted to the systematic thought and severely backwards gender relations and must be totally unaware of Christian democracy.”

The bigotry and hatred of the Clinton Campaign

A “bastardization” of their faith? “Friggin’ Murdoch?” Who has a potty mouth? Apparently Clinton aides do. Obviously she knows nothing of voters, or she wouldn’t be bad-mouthing a voting bloc that encompasses 1/4 of the entire nation, and includes millions of Latinos. Weren’t they trying to get those people to vote for Hillary? Hmmm. She’s a great ‘help’ to her candidate. Or ours.

The fallout from the leaked email has been fast and furious. Even Karl Rove, who has been a fence sitter on this campaign has said Donald Trump needs to make an issue of this.

“They mock deeply held beliefs. They mock the idea that two conservative Catholics would have their children baptized in the same river where John the Baptist baptized Jesus. I mean, this is really amazing that they would mock them. What Christians wouldn’t consider it a blessing to be able to afford to baptize their children in the Jordan River? This is so insensitive … I’m gonna say that it’s insensitive, but it strikes me that it really borders on bigotry, religious bigotry…

It’s gonna have to be made an issue by Donald Trump and his allies stepping forward and saying ‘This is unacceptable and Hillary Clinton ought to repudiate it.'” Karl Rove.

So who is more “insensitive” or “bigoted” – Trump or the Clinton campaign? called for Palmieri  to resign or be fired. Catholics have been primarily Clinton supporters…hopefully they’ll figure out that they are just a vote, not real people to Hillary.

As we’ve mentioned before, Trump’s words were rooted in physical pleasure. The Clinton’s campaign and Hillary’s words are rooted in bigotry and hatred.
