Virginia Armed Citizen Takes Down Convenience Store Robbers

 In 2nd Amendment

When two robbers brandishing guns attempted to rob a 7-Eleven store in Virginia Beach, a Virginia armed citizen took care of the problem. One dead robber, one wounded robber.

The two men walked into the store at around 2 a.m. on Thursday and told everyone to “freeze.” Both were wearing hoodies and bandanas over their faces. As one of them jumped behind the counter and reached in the cash register, the clerk told them they “didn’t have to do this.”

That’s when gunshots rang out.

“I heard a gunshot, and as soon as I heard the gunshot I just fell to my knees, held my head and prayed to God that I wasn’t going to be the next shot.” Barrie Engel, Clerk

But it wasn’t the bad guys that shot their guns, it was a Virginia armed citizen who wasn’t just about to let the robbers get away with their plan.

Another customer reached down and grabbed the weapons out of the suspects’ hands and found that they were airsoft guns, not real ones.

“I went to get the other gun, pulled the magazine and realized it was a fake. It had a CO2 cartridge instead of a magazine.” Hugh Sisson

The police stated that the robbers struck at least four times in so many hours.

WAVY reported,

“Police say they first stuck the store on Pacific Avenue at the Oceanfront before moving to Norfolk and taking money from stores on Chesapeake Boulevard and Virginia Beach Boulevard. The Newtown heist would be their last.”

For one of them, it was his very very last. It is unknown if there will be any charges against the armed citizen, but all things remaining as reported, it is unlikely, even though the gun weren’t real.

The 7-Eleven clerk said she is not sure she’ll go back to work there, but she is grateful for the armed citizen.

“Thank God he was in here and thank God he was holding a gun. He saved our lives.” Barrie Engel
