US Air Strikes Take Out Another IRGC Terrorist

 In Foreign, Military

Another IRGC terrorist was reportedly killed in US retaliatory air strikes the day after an Iranian-backed militia attacked Camp Taji. General Siamand Mashhadani, a top commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, was reportedly killed in the US air strikes against Kataib Hezbollah after they killed two Americans on March 11. Iraq told us not to ‘do it again’ after more rockets struck Camp Taji and 5 were wounded, as we previously reported.

The Jerusalem Post reported,

“According to Al-Ain media, the Iranian officer was killed in the US airstrikes. Reports of his death circulated at around one in the morning in Iraq. He was an officer in the Quds Force of the IRGC, the same force once headed by Qasem Soleimani, who was killed by the US on January 3 in a drone strike in Baghdad. An Iraqi official told Al-Ain that Mashhadani was killed near the town of Jufr al-Sakhar, one of the sites hit by the airstrikes. The town is north of Karbala in the Babil Governorate. Four other members of the Quds Force were supposedly also killed. They were in a command and control headquarters for Kataib Hezbollah when the airstrike occurred.”

The US bombed the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMU), which also contains Kataib Hezbollah members, as well as weapons facilities used to attack Camp Taji. Conflicting reports gave the death toll from the air strikes from 18 to 32, including General Mashhadani. One more IRCG terrorist has been eliminated.

The Iran War Powers Resolution

Congress has actively attempted to limit Trump’s response to Iran by passing the Iran War Powers Resolution, just before the Iranian-backed militia attacked US and coalition members at Camp Taji. But this President is not about to let terrorists kill more Americans if he can stop it.

Eight Republicans defected to vote for the resolution: Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Rand Paul of Kentucky, Jerry Moran of Kansas, Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Todd Young of Indiana, and Mike Lee of Utah. (Daily Wire) The vote guaranteed a Trump veto, and neither chamber has the votes to override it.

President Trump was highly unhappy with the resolution, as were several Senators. Sen. Mitch McConnell called the resolution “Deeply flawed,” as well as “Too blunt and too broad.”

“If this passes, the president will never abide by it — no president would. I want the Iranians to understand, when it comes to their provocative behavior, all options are on the table.” Senator Lindsey Graham

President Trump should have all the military resources available to him when dealing with a regime that continually attacks our troops. And always remember his words:

“Our message to the terrorists is clear: You will never escape American justice.  If you attack our citizens, you forfeit your life.” President Trump
