UN Votes Against US- Nikki Haley Says This Vote Will Be Remembered
One hundred twenty eight nations voted against the United States on Thursday at the UN according to Fox News, condemning the President’s decision to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem and the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Even after UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and President Trump warned them that we could cut off funding, they voted against us.
“This will make a difference on how Americans look at the U.N. and on how we look at countries who disrespect us in the U.N., and this vote will be remembered.” Nikki Haley
Will the US actually cut off funding? It would certainly save a lot of money.
Muslims have called us bullies because of the possibility the US could cut off funds. Yet the PA – Palestinian Authority – has threatened suicide attacks because of the Jerusalem declaration, and has even been playing a music video glorifying suicide attacks. Which is the real bully here? Suicide bombers or a money cut off?
Suicide attacks were the main method used by terrorists during the 2000-2005 Intifada. The Palestinians’ deputy district governor of Jerusalem, Abdallah Siyam, compared the Trump announcement to the situation during those years. When Jerusalem is threatened, Siyam said, the Palestinians “wage intifada.” Today they are in such a situation, he added, speaking on a PA television morning show.
According to PMW, Siyam also called on Palestinians to engage in “uprisings” in front of US embassies: “[We] need an uprising in front of every US embassy and [to take] a stand that warns [them] that this disregard for the red lines and for Jerusalem is complete disregard for the stability of the region.”
The UN had attempted to force Trump to renounce his own decision, which resulted in a US veto of the resolution before the UN Security Council on Monday.
The United Nations has been riddled with anti-Israel sentiments for decades. The very same body that voted to give the Jews part of the British protectorate of Palestine is now on the opposite side of the equation.
And let’s not forget that Jerusalem was the Capital of Israel long before Islam existed, biblically speaking. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital “regardless of today’s vote.”
“We will remember it when we are called upon once again to make the world’s largest contribution to the United Nations. And we will remember when so many countries come calling on us, as they so often do, to pay even more and to use our influence for their benefit.” Nikki Haley
