The Tank Show Interviews a Young Muslim Marine
“For over 221 years our Corps has done two things for this great Nation. We make Marines, and we win battles.” Gen. Charles C. Krulak, USMC (CMC); 5 May 1997
The US Marines Corps is first and foremost a brotherhood. “Semper Fidelis”- always faithful- is the motto of a band of brothers who never back down, never leave a man behind, and stand shoulder to shoulder in battle.
When Rick interviewed Ismael the other day, an active US Marine who happens to be a Muslim, there were many questions raised and only one bottom line: he’s a very young US Marine who still has a lot to learn.
Ismael was offended by some of the things we posted, which will one day turn out to be not as big of a deal as he thought at the time. Life is full of offenses, it comes with the territory. He is still trying to”find himself” as a Marine, but his priority is being American.
If he earned that Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, (which he did) then he deserves the same respect given to any other Marine. For example, the case of Colonel Douglas Burpee, who became the highest ranking Muslim in the Marines.
One Muslim recruit, Raheel Siddiqui, was called a “terrorist” numerous times, prior to his death during boot camp. It has been suggested that his death was due to “hazing” by drill sergeants.
The fact is there are many Muslims in the Marine Corps.
The Questions- Sharia
Ismael states that he hates ISIS as much as we do. He sees them as a “common enemy.” And they are a common enemy. Any radical Islamist should always be a common enemy. He stated that Sharia-compliant Muslims are the main problem… and he is correct. Ismael would like to see “reforms” in the Islamic community – but such reforms would be difficult to accomplish.
Here are some of the reasons why it would be difficult to reform:
Muslims in America tend to attempt to shut down the rights of everyone else – i.e. the idea that no one can poke fun at Mohammed, no one can have a First Amendment right to say what they think. The constant attacks against Conservative views are always labeled as “Islamophobic.” The word “Islamophobe” is part of the Sharia doctrine of “slander” against the prophet.
It is against Sharia law to “rat out” a fellow Muslim. Which would make it difficult for the Muslims of any mosque to report any radicals that might be present without violating the tenets of their faith.
According to experts, the Qur’an (Koran), the Sunnah – comprised of the Hadith, and the Sira- are all the authoritative books for Muslims. Not just one of them, but all of them. Sharia is the focus of all. Under Islamic law, the term “abrogation” is used to define the peaceful quotes at the beginning which became violent at the end. Abrogation simply means that the violent quotes at the end are authoritative because they came last.
The word “jihad” is often spoken by them as just a “struggle.” But it is actually a place of fighting, warring, against all unbelievers until the world is dominated by Sharia. Jihad is “obligatory” for all Muslims. Sharia is the system of governance for which Muslims are supposed to comply. It is not just a religion, it is an entire governmental system.
Ismael will come back to the Tank Show for more discussions in the future. It was obvious by the show that he is not a Shariah compliant Muslim, and America is his priority. The bottom line, once again, is that he earned the EAG and therefore should be treated with respect. Other Marines, such as Colonel Burpee, also earned the respect of his peers, and Ismael is no different.
