That’s Embarrassing: Democrat VA Governor Ralph Northam- Is He the Blackface or the KKK Robe or Neither?

 In Politics

A photo in Democrat VA Ralph Northam’s 1984 Eastern Virginia Medical School yearbook shows two men, one in blackface and one in a KKK robe. Great optics. Especially after Northam’s recent remarks about allowing babies to die, even after they are born. It is actually unclear whether either of the men in the photo are Gov Northam, but optics are optics.

Interestingly, the news site Virginian-Pilot scrubbed the photo from their tweet, although it’s still on their article at pilotonline.

One can imagine Governor Northam throwing seven kinds of a fit and yelling ‘That’s not me! That’s not me!’ It was someone. And it’s on his personal Medical school page. So he has some serious explaining to do.

Here’s the original:

Here’s the current tweet:

The quote attributed to Northam beneath the photo next to the picture reads, “There are more old drunks than old doctors in this world so I think I’ll have another beer.”

Republican lawmakers in Virginia called for an immediate explanation from Northam.

“Racism has no place in Virginia. These pictures are wholly inappropriate. If Governor Northam appeared in blackface or dressed in a KKK robe, he should resign immediately.” Jack Wilson, head of the Republican party in Virginia

The photo was first published by Big League Politics, and confirmed by the Virginia Pilot. They found the photo in an Eastern Virginia Medical School yearbook.

The Virginia history encyclopedia noted:

“Although the first Klan was less centralized than the second…it effectively aimed “to destroy the Republican party‘s infrastructure, undermine the Reconstruction state, reestablish control of the black labor force, and restore racial subordination in every aspect of Southern life.” To achieve these ends, Klansmen donned white-sheeted regalia that covered their bodies and masked their faces as they employed unseemly methods of intimidation, including rape, beating, murder, and lynching. Members of the so-called Invisible Empire relied upon secrecy and anonymity to avoid being caught and to create an environment of fear in which blacks and pro-Reconstruction whites had to live under a constant threat of violence.”

Virginia has a history with the Klan going back to the late 1800’s. And it was a Democrat group, not a Republican one. They still exist, though perhaps not as large numbers as before. At least we hope not.

Doesn’t matter, he believes babies can be aborted right up to the due date and after is being paid good money from Planned Parenthood to say so. He and NY Cuomo need to be aborted at their age to.
