Texas Land Commissioner to Rioters: “Don’t Mess With The Alamo”

 In Domestic

Texas doesn’t much care for people damaging their properties, particularly the Alamo. When word that rioters were going to target the Alamo, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush issued a simple warning: “Don’t mess with the Alamo.”

“The Alamo is the Shrine of Texas Liberty. And it will be defended. My office is closely watching the social media posts and rumors from protestors who are threatening to come to The Alamo… Rest assured we have already deployed, for several weeks and will continue to do so, the Alamo Rangers in partnership with SAPD, The Department of Public Safety and The National Guard to protect this sacred site. My message to the protestors is simple: Don’t mess with The Alamo.” George P. Bush, Texas Land Commissioner

The Texas Land Commissioner is the son of Jeb Bush.

Rioters and “protesters” have destroyed historical sites across America – much like ISIS destroyed ancient historical sites. From Confederate statues to Christopher Columbus, to other memorials that the ignorant protesters had no idea who they were in reference to. They just see something they want to destroy, so they destroy it.

But not the Alamo.  When word came that rioters were targeting the infamous symbol of Texas liberty, authorities took notice and moved to keep it from happening.

One Twitter user claimed that armed citizens had formed a line around the historical site, another claimed he didn’t see anyone. The gist of the Twitter feeds was: if you mess with our Alamo, you will be sorry.

“There’s something ironic about defending the Alamo a second time.” Aiden James

On May 30, a protester was arrested for vandalizing the Alamo Cenotaph in San Antonio. Armed citizens from the Texas Freedom Force Militia showed up there to protect it from further damage. Noah Escamilla, 25 was suspected of tagging the cenotaph with ‘white supremacy,’ ‘profit over people,’ and ‘The Alamo’ and downward facing arrows. That’s just the cenotaph in downtown San Antonio, not the Alamo itself.

Any protesters or rioters attempting to burn down the Alamo will not appreciate the result.

I agree, they amount to a grain of sand of our pop. Why, Why has nothing been done to those responsible for these destructions ?’burning, fire bombing, etc.

I personally will help defend ANY HISTORICAL MARKER that any of these sonsofbitches want to deface. If our government won’t defend them it’s a damn shame, so that leaves the citizens to do it and believe me I will be shooting to kill.

I will help you defend the Alamo no rubber bullets.

If backup is needed, this Texan is ready. It’s a 6 hour drive from where I live, but a very endearing place in our history and in my heart.
