Terror Plots Foiled, Europe on Edge for NYE

 In Foreign

Spain, UK, France, Germany, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Norway, and Sweden are all gearing up for the New Years Eve Celebrations that could bring terror attacks to the large crowds. French counter terrorism units arrested 3 suspects in raids at two locations, and Spanish counter-terrorism police arrested two on Wednesday.

Plots against New Years Eve

Breitbart reported:

The first raid in Toulouse resulted in the arrests of two men, aged 42, on suspicion of plotting attacks against police officers. Both were identified as radical Islamists and one profiled as a potential suicide bomber. Small arms and light weapons were also seized. Le Figaro reports the men were illegal migrants.

The second raid in Cugnaux, 10 miles south-west of Toulouse, resulted in the arrest of a 30-year-old man as part of an investigation conducted by the antiterrorist prosecutor’s office in Paris.

The Toulouse, France area has been the focus of at least 55 searches related to terrorism since 2015.

The two jihadis arrested in Madrid were found to be in possession of a stash of weapons.

Sydney, Australia says they have deployed 2,000 more officers than normal.

European “hot spots” for possible attacks

Authorities in different parts of Europe have deployed helicopters, thousands of counter-terrorism offices, extra police, etc., all in anticipation of a possible terror attack. Heavy barriers have been erected in some cities with traditional New Years Eve Parties. According to the Express UK, some air planes have been equipped with  “an impressive arsenal of weapons.”

It’s costing every nation millions of dollars to protect the people from jihadists.

Amen, “Sir Dave.”
