Suspect Sends Threat to NJ Candidate Jay Webber, Mentions His Children
Jay Webber is the Republican candidate for New Jersey’s 11th district in Congress. On Tuesday, Fox reported that his law office in Whippany received a violent threat letter that mentioned Webber’s 7 children, and warned him to get out of the Congressional race.
It read in part:
“What the f— is wrong with you … s—bag? You BETTER hope that you don’t win! Or else. How many kids do you have… 7? Unlucky 7. This is what we think of you. Time to get out of politics.”
It also accused Republicans of “running up the national debt,” among other things. Webber responded by calling it a gutless act.
“Criticizing a candidate on the issues is part of politics. Threatening my children is not. We are thankful for the support of law enforcement as we work to find whoever is behind this gutless act. We will not be intimidated as we work to make #NJ11 better for everyone.” Jay Webber
The threat arrived a few days after Webber tweeted that the left was ‘unhinged’ when they destroyed his campaign signs.
This is what the unhinged left is doing with their time. Don’t retaliate! Instead, knock on doors, volunteer and put up more #WebberForCongress signs. Let’s win this the right way and build a #NJ11 that is better for everyone. Learn more here: https://t.co/w9ubAu6pBO pic.twitter.com/XmL3lrYeRB

President Trump endorsed Jay Webber for Congress in a tweet.
Jay Webber of New Jersey, running for Congress, is doing a great job against a person who is looking to raise Taxes substantially. Jay wants big Tax Cuts and Changes. A Harvard graduate and father of seven, Jay will be great for New Jersey and get the job done-and I will help!

Webber is running against Democrat Mikie Sherrill. She condemned the letter, calling it “appalling.”
