Shooting in Orlando – Multiple Fatalities in Workplace Violence

 In Domestic

A “disgruntled” former employee of Fiamma, Inc in Orange county, Florida began shooting at around 8:03 a.m. on Monday. The awning manufacturer lost 4 employees to the gunman, 4 males and a female. Seven people survived the onslaught. The 45 year old shooter then killed himself.

The suspect entered the building with a handgun and a knife, and shot 5 people before turning the gun on himself. When police arrived at the scene they found 4 people dead, and one wounded male. The wounded male was transported to the hospital but succumbed to his wounds. There were 12 people in the building at the time of the incident. A total of six people died at the Fiamma incident.

Officials checked, but said there was no connection to terrorism, as both the FBI and ATF responded to assist the investigation. The suspect had been fired from the business back in April. The suspect had a criminal record, and had been accused of assaulting a coworker back in 2014. No charges were filed in that situation, and that assaulted employee was not reportedly among the dead.

On the business reviews on Google one week ago someone wrote, “Bo got shot. Great deals but be ready for a gunfight.” Premeditated? The incident is being investigated as workplace violence.
