Quebec Mosque Shooting- Multiple Dead, 2 in custody

 In Breaking News, Foreign

Two masked men opened fired inside the Islamic Cultural Centre of Quebec in Sainte-Foy last night around 8 p.m., killing at least 6, and leaving 5 in critical condition. Numerous others were wounded. Two men are in custody over the incident: Alexandre Bissonnette and Mohamed Khadir, both are in their 20s or early 30s, and appear to be students from a local university.

UPDATE: According to Canadian officials, there is only one suspect, a French-Canadian named Alexandre Bissonnette. Reportedly, he “liked Trump” and had confused views on his social media accounts.

Originally reported as Mohamed Khadir, the other subject from Morocco’s name was actually Mohammed Belkhadir. He  was released by authorities, and is now considered a witness, and all potential charges against him have been dropped.

Original report:

The two men entered the mosque during evening prayers and opened fire, shouting “allahu akbar!”

Men were praying in the ground floor of the mosque, and women and children were upstairs. By 10:40 p.m., police said they had evacuated and made the building secure.

“It seemed to me that they had a Québécois accent. They started to fire, and as they shot, they yelled, ‘Allahu akbar!’ The bullets hit people that were praying. People who were praying lost their lives. A bullet passed right over my head…There were even kids. There was even a three-year-old who was with his father.” Witness

The CBC reported,

One of the two men was arrested not far from the scene of the shooting, while the other was arrested near l’île d’Orléans, five kilometres from downtown Quebec City, following a police chase of the SUV he was driving.

Radio-Canada reported a gun was found inside the SUV.

A source close to the investigation told Radio-Canada police are investigating whether the two men attended Laval University, also in Quebec City.

Police have stepped up security on the campus of Laval University, and a search was being made of a home in a nearby community. Two thousand (2,000) police officers were deployed immediately after the incident.

Fake News

As is typical of the mainstream media, they blamed Trump and said it was white supremacists… but in fact Mohamed Khadir is from Morocco, the other is French-Canadian. Police are reportedly investigating the incident as an act of terrorism, although some public officials declined to call it that. [See update above- it may actually have been a racist].

Canadians called for solidarity with the Muslim community after the incident.

The Daily Beast got it totally wrong, and CNN’s narrative was off plumb (again). But the msm are going to blame Trump for everything even if they are wrong.
