Philadelphia Raised Communist Flag on China Anniversary
No. Just no. The City of Philadelphia raised the flag of Communist China outside city hall on October 1, in spite of opposition by many local groups. October 1 is the anniversary of Communist rule in China. Are they ignorant of the death toll from 70 years of Chinese Communist regimes? They supposedly did it in the name of “diversity.”
Boston, San Francisco, also raised the Communist flag ahead of October 1. Toronto, Canada normally does it, but because of current tensions with China, they refrained.
The Epoch Times reported,
“Raising this flag, a symbol of the birth of the Chinese Communist Party on October 1, 1949 is only celebrating tyranny, repression, and death,” Jessica Russo, mental health advisor at advocacy group Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH) said in a Sept. 20 email she drafted to the mayor’s office and provided to The Epoch Times.
The regime also continues to persecute religious groups, including Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) practitioners, Uyghur Muslims, House Christians, and Tibetan Buddhists, Russo wrote in a Sept. 17 letter to the city, adding that the Party has killed prisoners of conscience for their organs. DAFOH is a non profit that raises awareness about organ harvesting in China, a practice which an independent tribunal in June found has taken place for years “on a significant scale.”
The Greater Philadelphia Falun Dafa Association and the Tibetan Association of Philadelphia also opposed the event in correspondence to the city government.
There are many ways to honor “diversity” and “heritage” other than raising a communist flag over an American city. Cultural events with costumes and dancing would have been fine. But…Democrats.
“Tens of millions” of Chinese have been murdered by their own government. In Tiananmen Square in 1989, unarmed college students fought for freedom – instead they were murdered in midst of their protests.
Mao Zedong presided over the murders of between 2 and 5 million people during his rule from October 1, 1949 to his death in 1976. And he justified the deaths as “necessary to secure power.” Mao also decreed that each village had to pick one person to be executed- after he’d already executed millions. That’s not counting concentration camps where millions more perished…and still do.
Today, hundreds of thousands are sent to “re-education camps.” Women are raped and sterilized. Men are placed into forced labor or killed. The religious persecution extends to not just Christians, but Uyghurs, who are Muslim. Estimates range from 120,000 Muslims in the camps to at least a million.
How would the ignorant Democrats in these large cities explain their actions to the Hong Kong protesters- one of whom was shot at point blank range on October 1st? The protesters called October 1st, the “Day of Grief.”
If these city leaders could explain their egregious actions to the dead, maybe they’d be ashamed. Men and women thrown in prisons, or murdered by firing squad simply because of their faith, or because they wanted a touch of freedom in their lives. Millions of young people and children have been used for organ harvesting. Babies are aborted simply because the government requires it. The blood of millions is on the hands of Communist China.
So, go ahead, Democrats, praise the evil and hate the good. There are consequences, count on it.
