Pennsylvania Bar Proudly Proclaims Death To Islam – Business Increases

 In Domestic

A West York, Pennsylvania bar recently put up a window sign proclaiming Death To Islam.  The boost to business has been significant.

The sign in the window of “The Other Place”

The Other Place

Jeff Seitz is a veteran.  He has been proprietor of ‘The Other Place’ a neighborhood bar in West York, PA for 17 years.  The bar has seen good times and bad, but remained a neighborhood fixture through 9/11, the recovery, the 2008 collapse and the Iraq war.

Shortly after 9/11, Seitz hung 2 signs inside the bar also proclaiming ‘Death To Islam’ alongside support for America and our military.  The window sign with the simple text message only recently went up.  Seitz says,

“All my customers agree with me,” Seitz said. “Everybody says, ‘I love your sign.’”

Complaint Backfires

Recently one customer decided to point out the ‘hateful’ message on social media, posting a photo of the window sign on Facebook.  Far from seeing a condemnation for the ‘hateful’ message, Seitz and staff report a business increase.

Seitz does not hold anything back, saying he put up the signs to protest the presence of Muslims in the United States.  While also mentioning Nadal Hasan, the Fort Hood shooter, Seitz said,

“These people blew up the World Trade Centers.”

Yes they did Mr. Seitz.  Not a single blond hair, fair skinned Swede named Sven among the lot.

1st Amendment

The framers knew the ability to think and speak one’s mind without fear of retribution is the very essence of personal freedom.  The U.S. Constitution does not place one amendment over another, treating all with equal importance.  But many believe the framers signaled the importance they placed on this freedom by enumerating it first in the Bill of Rights.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The 1st Amendment protects speech you support and speech that makes your blood boil.  Whether it be burning a flag in protest, or marching down main street in a hood and robe carrying a sign emblazoned with a swastika, the first amendment protects each American’s right to speak or show their opinion freely.

As owner of The Other Place, Jeff Seitz has a 1st Amendment right to voice his opinion about Islam.

Words Okay, Actions Not

The old adage ‘Sticks and stones may hurt my bones, but words will never hurt me’ comes to mind.

According to York police, no complaints have been filed about the sign.  Nancy Baron-Baer, Anti Defamation-League Regional Director, said to be considered a threat the posted message would have to be more specific.

But CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) spokesman Ibrahim Hooper equates the sign to racist or anti-Semitic speech. Concerned that such messages will encourage violence against American Muslims Hooper said,

“It’s Islamophobia, a similar type of hatred to all these other forms of intolerance.  As we’ve seen through history, hatred of any minority group has a way of getting out of hand.”

Maybe so Mr. Hooper, but last I checked, no other religion besides Islam has posed a threat not only to individual Americans, but to our American culture and freedoms.

Intolerant Death Cult

Islam is the very definition of intolerance, a virtual death cult.  From calling for the death of anyone mocking the pedophile Mohammed, to throwing gay men to their death from rooftops, Islam and the practice everyday displays why it is a death cult that must be destroyed.

For the good of the world and free people everywhere,

‘Islam, as it exists today, MUST be eradicated from the earth.’
