PA State Police Officer Killed, Suspect Deceased

Huntingdon County – Trooper Landon Weaver of the PA State Police was gunned down by Jason Robison, 32, a man who posted that “the only good cop is a dead cop.” Weaver had been on the job only a year.

Trooper Weaver responded to a report of a domestic dispute in which there was a violation of a protection order at around 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The address where police responded was that of the suspect’s mother. Trooper Weaver was shot and killed at the residence. Robison had been released on bail from another charge.

Charges were filed and an arrest warrant issued  Robison. A manhunt ensued as the PSP searched for the suspect, who was thought to have been still inside the home. Then the information was released that Robison was deceased. It is unclear at this point whether he killed himself or if a firefight occurred.

LINE OF DUTY DEATH: PSP regrets to announce that Trooper Landon Weaver was tragically shot and killed while investigating a domestic-related incident at a home on Bakers Hollow Road in Juniata Township, Huntingdon County around 6:30 p.m. on December 30th.

Tpr. Weaver enlisted in the Pennsylvania State Police in December of 2015 and was assigned to the Patrol Unit at Troop G, Huntingdon. He becomes the 97th member of the Pennsylvania State Police to be killed in the line of duty.

Robison had been arrested numerous times, everything from DUI to Arson.

Trooper Weaver is one more name added to the long list of officers who died in the line of duty in 2016, a list which includes 63 shootings, and a total of 139 officers killed. He is survived by his wife.
