Ohio Government Websites Hacked by Pro-Islamic, Anti-Trump “Team”

 In Domestic, Technology

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections, along with several other Ohio government sites and even as far-reaching as Long Island, New York, were hacked on Sunday morning. The hacker(s) left an anti-Trump, pro-Islam Message:

Anti: Govt all word
You will be held accountable Trump, you and all your people for every drop of blood flowing in Muslim countries.
I love the Islamic state
The Hacker(s) claimed responsibility by starting the message with “Hacked by Team System DZ.” The Arabic picture is the “Shahada” or Islamic creed. It’s a “testimony” or “witness” of their belief in Mohammed and Islam.

According to News5Cleveland, the hackers also hit these Ohio government websites:

The Ohio government is aware of the hacks, and is working to take care of the problem. The websites are marked “currently down for maintenance.” The State says no personal information was obtained by the hackers.

Ohio Department of Administrative Services issued this statement:

“State of Ohio IT staff are working to restore the computer systems that were impacted today.  All affected servers have been taken offline and we are investigating how these hackers were able to deface these websites. We also are working with law enforcement to better understand what happened.”

The hackers who call themselves “Team System DZ” have claimed responsibility for hacking in the past. In 2015, they claimed responsibility for hacking the Dayton City Paper.

Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel posted: “OH Dept of Corrections website right now, this is what you see. Wake up freedom-loving Americans. Radical Islam infiltrating the heartland.”

According to the New York Post, the same message appeared on websites in Brookhaven, Long Island, New York. The city of Brookhaven disabled their websites in order to determine what happened and the extent of the hack.

The link at the bottom of the message goes to the Team System DZ Facebook page. Their page is full of bragging about their hacks. They also claimed to have hacked numerous other websites such as St. Mary’s Parish in Louisiana as well as Mitsubishi Motors in Egypt.

Their message to Mitsubishi  read:
“Hacked By Team System Dz

In Howard County, there was chanting, a situation different than the other hacks. Officials there are also working to correct the problem.

It appears to be more than just the “Heartland” that was affected by the pro-ISIS hackers.  Stay alert, America.
