 In Science

A massive Nor’easter -aka “bomb cyclone”- named “Winter Storm Riley” slammed into the East Coast Friday, dropping (so far) 10 inches of snow in Sussex County, New Jersey. It has affected close to 15 states, pummeling them with damaging winds, coastal flooding, hail and inland snow. Power outages stretched across the region.

Winds up to 78 mph were felt in Wellfleet and Woods Hole, Massachusetts, according to ABC. Meanwhile Pennsylvania and New Jersey were hit with snow. New York and Long Island were socked in with rain and coastal flooding. Amtrak has cancelled service in Northeast corridor, and at least 1,000 flights were canceled at LaGuardia. Reagan airport had a close call with a plane trying to land as well.
