Memphis Homeowner Grabs AK-47, Takes Down Two Armed Burglars

 In 2nd Amendment

Memphis, Tennessee –  On Friday, WREG reported that a Memphis homeowner returned home from the barber shop to find his house being burglarized by two armed subjects. His dog- who was caged, was barking furiously, and the door had been pried open. The men were inside the home when the homeowner arrived.

“I see my house being ransacked and the dog was still going hysterical in the cage. When he saw me he notified the other individual that was with him, ‘hey, they are here.'” Homeowner

The men pulled out their guns, and one of them jammed as he started to shoot. The other one did shoot. The homeowner bolted to a closet and grabbed his AK-47.  As he did that, the two ran into the kitchen and started out the back door. The homeowner shot them both on the patio.  They will never burglarize homes again.

The suspects were identified as Azell Witherspoon, 28, and Demond Robinson, 17. They were deceased at the scene.

Police detained the homeowner, but he was released after viewing his home surveillance footage. Police gave the evidence to the District Attorney, who ruled that no charges will be filed.

The homeowner has had problems in the past, and did not want his name used. In September of 2017, there was a shooting at his home, which  was evidenced by police markings from bullet holes, according to WMC news.

“I don’t know what’s going on but I know I’m going to defend my life to the best of my ability…”

He is concerned about possible retaliation, which is why he didn’t want his name used.

“That’s a possibility. You never know how someone else’s family may perceive the situation, but I mean, I just have to take it one day at a time.”
