Long Beach Fire Capt Killed, Another Firefighter Wounded in Apt Complex Ambush
California – An explosion at a Senior apartment complex early Monday morning may have lured the Long Beach Fire Department to Covenant Manor, a low-income Senior Living complex. Captain Dave Rosa, a 17 year veteran of the Long Beach Fire Department, husband and father of two children, was killed when a suspect opened fire on the responders. Another firefighter and civilian were also wounded. SWAT was called, and the suspect is in custody. ATF is also on scene.

SWAT evacuated some of the apartments in close proximity. The suspect’s name was not immediately released.
