Is Trump “Insensitive”? These Presidents Have Him Beat

 In opinion, Politics

We’ve heard the media call Donald Trump “insensitive.” But he isn’t even close to saying some of the things that other Presidents have said, including our current one.

So here are a few quotes from a few of our presidents who were downright mean:

The Utopian schemes of leveling [redistribution of wealth] and a community of goods (central ownership of the means of  production and distribution) are as visionary and impractical as those which vest all property in the Crown. These ideas are arbitrary, despotic, and in our government, unconstitutional.” Samuel Adams (not a big fan of socialism we take it)

“The bank, Mr VanBuren, is trying to kill me. But I will kill it.” Andrew Jackson, 1832 [Was that an incitement to violence?]

“Each man must work for himself, and unless he works, no one outside can avail him.” Theodore Roosevelt [uh,oh, no entitlements here]

“The white men were roused by mere instinct of self-preservation….until at last there has spring into existence a great Ku Klux Klan, a veritable empire of the South, to protect the Southern Country.” Woodrow Wilson in Birth of A Nation [Well that was downright racist of him, don’t you think? He was a Progressive Democrat, by the way.]

And who could forget Bill Clinton talking to Ted Kennedy about Obama:

“A few years ago, this guy would have been carrying our bags.” [Ouch]

insensitive

And here a few  insensitive beauties from our current President, Barack Obama:

Whose side is he on?

“I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

“The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.”

“The sweetest sound I know is the sound of a Muslim prayer call.”

Gun Control

“These types of mass shootings don’t happen in other countries.” (um, what about the mass killings in Paris, Belgium, Norway?)

Inciting violence

“If they bring a knife to the fight, you bring a gun.”

“I want you to argue with them and get in their faces.”

“I don’t want to quell anger. I’m angry.”

Insensitive abortion comment

“I’ve got two daughters, 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.” (baby parts sold by Planned Parenthood)

And finally this one – did he mean ISIS or Al-Qaeda? Certainly couldn’t have been talking about Christians.

“It’s not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

Over the years Obama has said some humdingers – even saying that his bowling score of 129 was “right out of the Special Olympics.”

Obfuscation. Distraction. Lies. And the constant attacks on Donald Trump by a biased media that conveniently forgets about the “insensitive” things our current President has said.
