Goodbye 2016 – Good Year or a Bad Year?

 In opinion, Politics

As we say ‘goodbye 2016’ tonight, will it be a fond farewell or not? Perhaps Charles Dickens said it best:

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us…”Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities

2016 was exactly like that.

The season of darkness

Over all Police Officer deaths in the line of duty were up by 7% in 2016, but shootings of police were up by 62%. Sixty-two percent. Thanks to the hate-filled agenda of groups like Black Lives Matter and individuals, law enforcement has literally been under attack on a daily basis.

Ambush killings of  officers were up 167%, according to USA Today in November.

For the families of fallen officers, 2016 was “the worst of times.”

Riots – the age of foolishness

Milwaukee, Wisconsin erupted in riots after the shooting of a black man by a police officer. And so it went across the nation as protest after protest after police shootings consumed the mainstream news.

Anti-Trump protesters rioted in Portland, Oregon, and staged huge protests across the nation after his victory in the election. Most of those protests were funded by George Soros…one of the world’s worst sore losers.

It seemed for a while that the “season of darkness” would overtake us.

The season of light, the spring of hope

Wikileaks revealed how corrupt the Democrats really are. A sickly, corrupt Hillary lied her way right out of the White House. And when she called Americans “deplorables,” we adopted it as our badge of honor.

When she lost the election 3 times, it made the whole year worthwhile.

Donald Trump will be in the White House, not Hillary Clinton. The building may need an exorcism (considering its residents for the last 8 years) before he moves in, but at least it will have an occupant who loves America.

Liberal college students cried and ran to their “safe spaces.” Liberal news media, liberal professors, liberal and RINO politicians lied. They protested. They demonstrated. They called for investigations. Democrats and Obama still look for scapegoats. Temper tantrums abound everywhere.

We don’t care if aliens from outer space hacked the Democrats – we are sick and tired of corruption. The swamp needs to be drained and quickly.

We will also have James Mattis for Secretary of Defense, and John Kelly for the Department of Homeland Security. Marines to the rescue.

Yes, 2016 was a good year, in spite of the upheaval. May 2017 be even better. Happy New Year, Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children!
