Fauci Approved $3.7M Grant to Wuhan Lab for Bat Research in 2015
In 2015, Dr Anthony Fauci approved a $3.7 Million grant to the Chinese Wuhan lab for its bat research, which pretty much tops the stupidity cake. He literally entrusted dangerous research to an enemy of the United States, and bypassed the US ban on such research. (Daily Mail )
From 2014 on, the US banned bat research on the Coronaviruses MERS and SARS because some of the US labs responsible for working on dangerous pathogens were making serious mistakes, (we previously reported on some of their mistakes). The possibility of an accidental pandemic was too great, so their research was shut down. Enter, Dr Anthony Fauci…who outsourced it to China. And he licensed the Wuhan lab to receive US funding.
An article from Children’s Health Defense entitled “U.S. Government’s $3.7 Million Grant to Wuhan Lab at Center of Coronavirus Outbreak” by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. states in part:
“Following the 2002-2003 SARS coronavirus outbreak, NIH funded a collaboration by Chinese scientists, US military virologists from the bioweapons lab at Fort Detrick and National Institutes of Health (NIH) scientists from NIAID to prevent future coronavirus outbreaks by studying the evolution of virulent strains from bats in human tissues. Those efforts included “gain of function” research which is “accelerated viral evolution” to create COVID Pandemic superbugs, enhanced bat borne COVID mutants more lethal and more transmissible than wild COVID.
Fauci’s studies alarmed scientists around the globe who complained, according to a December 2017 NY Times article, that “these researchers risk creating a monster germ that could escape the lab and seed a pandemic.” Dr. Marc Lipsitch of the Harvard School of Public Health’s Communicable Disease Center told the Times that Dr. Fauci’s NIAID experiments “have given us some modest scientific knowledge and done almost nothing to improve our preparedness for pandemic, and yet risked creating an accidental pandemic.”
“In October 2014, following a series of federal laboratory mishaps that narrowly missed releasing these deadly engineered viruses, President Obama ordered the halt to all federal funding for Fauci’s dangerous experiments. NIAID-funded gain of function research continued after the moratorium in a Wuhan-based laboratory. Congress needs to launch an investigation of NIAID’s mischief in China.”
So what does all that mean? It means that Dr Fauci outsourced the dangerous research to the Wuhan laboratory after Obama shut it down. Dr. Fauci may be an “infectious diseases expert,” but he easily could be found complicit in this pandemic.
According to AsiaTimes,
“It is understandable that the Chinese lab likely struggled with safety issues given the fact US labs share similar problems, and indeed in January 2018 the US Embassy in Beijing sent cables warning about the safety of the Wuhan lab and asked for help.
Additionally, the embassy warned that researchers “showed that various SARS-like coronaviruses can interact with ACE2, the human receptor identified for SARS-coronavirus,” meaning bat coronaviruses can be transmitted to humans to cause SARS-like diseases.”
So not only did Dr. Fauci outsource dangerous research, but cables were sent to the United States warning of security issues at the Wuhan lab.
‘Dropping the ball’ is a major understatement.
