Facebook Scrubs Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children Admin Account

 In opinion, Politics

Remember that movie “Erased” from 2012? On Monday, October 1, without warning, suddenly Facebook scrubbed my entire account. All the years of personal pictures, Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children articles, over a thousand friends…poof. Gone in the blink of an eye. I was literally erased from Facebook existence.

For the record, I don’t post memes, and rarely share anything outside of Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children. I write articles, and interact with my friends and family. That’s it. On my personal page I post those articles and personal pictures like my dog and my new book. Does Facebook hate dogs too? (My dog is a Conservative. He’s a bit rowdy, but definitely Conservative. But he’s a lover, not a biter. Darn it.) I didn’t even allow people to fight with each other on my page.

From my vantage point, Facebook’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) is vicious. Programmed by liberals, it looks for things it doesn’t like. It’s another way to censor people. Think I’m loony?

This is from the Washington Post:

While Facebook’s AI rivals have developed automated voice assistants, such as Amazon’s Alexa, or spearheaded breakthroughs in gaming, robotics or self-driving cars, the social network has devoted much of its AI engineering to analysis of images, video and text — facial recognition, language translation and detection of unwanted content or harmful comments. (Amazon.com founder and chief executive Jeffrey P. Bezos owns The Washington Post.)

A typical user can often miss the subtle ways Facebook’s AI influences their actions, including photo tag suggestions, algorithmically decided news feeds, friend recommendations, spam blocking and ad targeting.

AI is a critical battlefield for Facebook, with Zuckerberg pledging to Congress and investors that automated tools would help solve some of the company’s thorniest problems, including extremist propaganda, misinformation and hate speech. The company says AI has boosted its ability to monitor the social network’s 2 billion users, but it still relies heavily on human moderators and, as LeCun noted, “works not so well with false news.”

That’s ok it works “not so well” with people who are connected to Conservative pages either. Why do I think it was the AI? Because no human could remove every single footprint of a person in the blink of an eye. It would take more than a second for a human to pull the plug on that much data across every part of Facebook and even Messenger.

So be advised, I’m not in a good mood today, even though they tell us Facebook is working to resolve it.  And if you have no idea where I went, take heart- neither do I. How about someone either uplug or take the batteries out of that #$%^%&^*** AI? Or teach it how to apologize and reverse its ridiculous actions.
