El Chapo’s Escape Adventure and his threats from Twitter

 In Foreign, Politics

El Chapo- Joaquin Guzman, head of the Sinaloa Cartel,  escaped from maximum security Altiplano prison in Mexico (as we reported previously). Officials were scratching their heads over how he did it…knowing full well he had help. But once out, he showed up on Twitter, tweeting about his accomplishment.

He crawled through a system of tunnels to a building under construction near the prison and then took clothes that were left for him by his cohorts. Those tunnels contained  contained air vents, electric lights, emergency oxygen tanks – and even a motorbike on rails. Pretty  fancy for a drug lord- one that claims to own the Mexican government (he obviously does).

After he left, authorities found small hole in the cell’s shower area. A ladder descended about 32 feet into the tunnel, which was about 5.6 feet high and 28-31 inches wide. Fortunately for El Chapo, he’s only 5.6 feet tall in the first place.  According to the Daily Mail, it would have required at least 379 dump trucks to take the dirt out of the tunnel system. And no one reported a thing.  Par for the course in corruption-laced Mexico.

Thus far, 3 prison workers have been fired over the incident. No word on whether they will be prosecuted.

Tweeting from where exactly?

The high profile escape brought an arrogant Guzman out on Twitter to brag about his accomplishment. (Which could be his undoing.) But he also took the time to threaten Donald Trump.

When The Donald said “Guzman is what’s wrong with Mexico,” Guzman hit back…hard.

The Daily Mail wrote,

On the account, administered by Guzman’s son Ivan, the escapee reportedly wrote: ‘If you keep p****** me off I’m going to make you eat your words you f****** blonde milk-s*****’.

In Mexico, a milk-s****** is a homophobic slur.

The property magnate is taking the threat seriously.

According to TMZ the billionaire has called in the FBI to investigate the source of the Twitter account which warned Trump he would be sorry he spoke out against Mexico.

Guzman also threatened his enemies with a “gruesome death” in his tweets yesterday. Authorities are concerned that if he reaches his property in the mountains, he might never be caught again. But Donald Trump says he’s going to “kick his ass” – referring to Guzman. This could get interesting.
