DNC – Hillary Campaign Paid for the Discredited “Trump Dossier”- Media Should have known about it

 In Politics

News keeps breaking about the DNC (Democratic National Committee) and the Hillary Campaign paying to have Fusion GPS put together the now discredited “Trump dossier” prepared by former British Spy Christopher Steele.

The Daily Caller reported,

According to a bombshell report from The Washington Post, Marc E. Elias, a lawyer for the Clinton campaign and DNC, and his law firm, Perkins Coie, hired Fusion GPS last April to investigate Trump…

…Fusion has refused numerous requests from Congress and in lawsuits involving the dossier to reveal the identities of its clients. News reports about Fusion’s clients had been vague. The dossier financier was generally described as an ally of Hillary Clinton’s.

One question that remains is who first hired Fusion to investigate Trump. A Republican donor who was vehemently opposed to Trump’s candidacy reportedly hired Fusion in Sept. 2015 to conduct routine opposition research.

According to The Post, the Clinton campaign and DNC paid Fusion through the end of Oct. 2016, just before the election. It is not entirely clear how much Fusion was paid for the project, but Federal Election Commission records show that the Clinton campaign paid Perkins Coie a total of $5.6 million between June 2015 and Dec. 2016. The DNC has paid the firm $3.6 million since Nov. 2015.

According to Fox News, then the FBI arranged to pay Christopher Steele, the ex-British spy,  to keep gathering  intelligence about both Trump and Russia. That deal was dumped after he was identified in news reports. The news media apparently only reported the “politics,” believing it was just the normal dirt gathering and not thinking about what was really going on.

USA Today reported it in May. The DNC and Hillary’s campaign continued to fund that ‘research’ up to the election, and the FBI took it from there.

Wikileaks release from 11-7-2016

An email written on May 17, 2016 by Lauren Hendricks, a DNC intern, to  members of Hillary Clinton’s Campaign and other members of the DNC, contained an article from USA Today titled “Mountains of Mud Set to Fly In White House Race” that revealed the DNC was working on a dossier with an outside source. Remember this email was sent in May, 2016 before the election, but about a month after the ‘researchers’ were hired.

Did she send the email to the DNC to give them a heads up that the information about the Dossier was out there? The information was buried inside a mainstream media article and no one paid any attention to it.

Excerpt from the interior of the email and the USA Today article:

American Bridge 21st Century, a super PAC launched in late 2010 and funded by billionaire financier George Soros, labor unions and wealthy Democrats, sits at the center of outside Democratic efforts find the damaging material that Clinton’s allies hope will derail Trump. Trackers equipped with video cameras have mingled with the throngs at Donald Trump’s raucous and sometimes violent political rallies to capture footage, while others monitor and file away Trump’s every TV appearance, which sometimes number as many as five in a single day. Officials with the super PAC won’t disclose how many researchers are working on building the anti-Trump dossier at the moment but say a team that once probed all of the GOP contenders now is focused entirely on the real-estate mogul. Their goal is to weave the reams of data, thousands of hours of video and decades’ worth of documents into a narrative “voters believe, understand, can appreciate and internalize,” said Ben Ray, American Bridge’s communication director.

It appears the media didn’t bother to check any further into that information. Now we learn the the law firm of Perkins Coie hired Fusion GPS, whose “clients” we do not know, and the Fusion executives have all plead the 5th in Congressional hearings. The swamp is full of gators.
