Dems Want to Sue Gun Manufacturers – New Proposal

The Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act [H.R. 332] seeks to roll back portions of the Protection of Lawful Commerce Act of 2005 that protected gun manufacturers from ridiculous lawsuits.  Again sponsored by Democrats, this is another gun control method designed to make gun manufacturers liable for the actions of criminals. They use words, once again, to make it sound like they’re just on the side of the “victims” of gun violence.

 dems want to sue

Skewing the verbiage

Look at this rhetoric:

“Congress passed a unique form of immunity for only one industry — and that is the gun industry… If you’re a carmaker and your airbags kill someone, you’re potentially liable. If you’re a pharmaceutical company and sell faulty drugs, you can be held liable. If you’re a liquor store and sell alcohol to minors, you can be held liable… Why should it be any different for gun manufacturers?” Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.)

Democrats have a plan and are working it hard.   Gun manufacturers are not exempt from lawsuits over malfunctioning guns. They are exempt from lawsuits over unwittingly selling to a criminal who might run out and shoot someone. Gun manufacturers do not make guns for criminals; they make them for law abiding citizens.

Repeating the lie

Hillary Clinton even told her sheep the same lie during a campaign stop:

“So far as I know, the gun industry and gun sellers are the only business in America that is totally free of liability for their behavior. Nobody else is given that immunity. And that just illustrates the extremism that has taken over this debate.”

It’s not extremism to be against this legislation or any other anti-2nd Amendment bill, but as long as she keeps repeating that line…everyone who owns a gun will be considered one.

If you say the same lie over and over again, people will believe it. People just accept what gun-grabbers say as if it were truth because they WAY they SAY IT sounds perfectly logical…even if it’s a total lie.

“The 2005 law does not prevent gun makers from being held liable for defects in their design. Like car makers, gun makers can be sued for selling a defective product. The problem is that gun violence victims often want to hold gun makers liable for the criminal misuse of a properly functioning product.”

In other words: If you aim and fire a gun at an attacker, it’s doing what it was intended to do. If it explodes while you shoot and hurts you, though, then you can sue the manufacturer. Likewise, if you had told the gun-store owner you planned to commit a crime with that gun, your victim could potentially sue.” Adam Winkler, professor of law at UCLA and author of Gunfight: The Battle Over the Right to Bear Arms in America

No chance of passage- we hope

More than likely this bill will not make it out of committee, as with other over the top gun control bills introduced so far this year. But the fact that their rhetoric keeps repeating means that more and more people will believe it.

Some day you could see so-called “Conservatives” voting for gun control because they want to help the victims or because it’s the “right thing to do.”  Stop the insanity while you can: call your reps and tell them “H*** no!”

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Propagandist for the Third Reich
