DACA Disaster – Criminal Records of DACA Requestors

 In Politics

DACA is the program for “dreamers,” or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. A new report from USCIS shows that literally thousands of DACA requestors have criminal records either before or after their request to enter the program. Some are even approved for DACA status while having an arrest record. The arrest  may not always result in a conviction, but let’s delve into it.

The latest USCIS report on DACA requestors can be found here.

According to USCIS:

  • Almost 8-percent of total DACA requestors (59,786 individuals) had arrest records as of the date the systems were queried, which included offenses such as assault and battery, rape, murder, and drunk driving, among others.  “Requestors” includes individuals approved and denied DACA.
  • Of those individuals whose DACA requests were approved and had one or more arrests or apprehensions, 53,792 were arrested or apprehended prior to their most recent approval.
  • Approximately 13-percent (7,814) of approved DACA requestors with an arrest had an arrest after their grant was approved and prior to renewal.
  • 54.8-percent of DACA requestors with more than one arrest (17,079) most recently had a DACA case status of “approved” as of the date the systems were queried.
  • 199 individuals who requested DACA had 10 or more arrests. Of those, 51 most recently had DACA case status of “approved,” as of the date the systems were queried

Breitbart reported,

But when politicians and law-enforcement officials allow illegals to stay in the United States, they are also making the decision to allow subsequent crimes against Americans and immigrants. For example, the federal data show that 24,898 migrants were arrested at least twice, and 9,799 were arrested at least three times.

The vast majority of the arrested DACA migrants — 91,272 — are Mexican, according to the report. The majority of the crimes were committed in California, Texas, and Florida, along with Illinois and New York.

The report follows the Democrats’ hostile reaction to a tweet from President Trump about criminal activities among the 890,000 younger migrants who have been given the DACA  work permit and exemption from law-enforcement:

Of  course, the leftist media immediately jumped all over the President saying that his statement was “false.” Yet the numbers say that there are some serious loopholes in the DACA program that allow persons with arrest records to stay in the United States. The President has stated that if the Supreme Court rules his way, he will make a deal for the good ones to stay.

Numerous protesters have been camped out at the Supreme Court while the Trump Administration’s dumping of the DACA program is heard. If the Supreme Court allows Trump to dump the program, 700,000+ people will be at risk of deportation.
