Catch and Release – 4 Buses of Illegals Dropped Off in El Paso
Texas – ICE dropped off 4 bus loads of illegal immigrants at the Greyhound bus station in El Paso at around 7 p.m. on Friday. The drop-off created issues as none of the people had bus tickets, money, food, or a place to stay. Many of them frantically called relatives if they had them, asking for help. But it degenerated from there.
Greyhound employees quickly became overwhelmed, called the police and requested help. Police arrived and contacted Annunciation House, a local volunteer group, to ask them for help for the new arrivals. Their Director, Ruben Garcia, arrived and received permission to help them. Garcia and the immigrants all walked the mile to the church and school.
“Several immigrants were released from ICE and dropped off at the Greyhound bus station in downtown El Paso on Friday afternoon, according to Ruben Garcia the director of the Annunciation House.
Garcia said ICE announced a change in its policy on how they process arriving refugee families. Garcia said Border Patrol, CBP and ICE will no longer hold families beyond what court orders allow them if there are no churches, or shelters able and willing to receive the families. They would then be released to the street.”
The problem soon escalated when one of the refugees said she was ill and needed an ambulance. El Paso Fire Department dispatched two units to the scene and made contact with the patient. As they worked with her, more of them began approaching the crew to ask for medical treatment. They were suddenly overwhelmed with at least 20 people requesting an ambulance.
The strain on city resources alone for this situation is unconscionable. Let’s review that statement above: “Border Patrol, CBP and ICE will no longer hold families beyond what court orders allow them if there are no churches, or shelters able and willing to receive the families. They would then be released to the street.”
What will we do with thousands of migrants who are marching their way to the United States? This truly is a national emergency. We have no place to put these people and the unbelievable problems created by just 4 bus loads of immigrants was enough to inundate one city’s resources.
What will we do with thousands who have been walking for weeks? Line up ambulances and give free medical treatment to them all? Shall we overwhelm the border charities who very likely have limited resources? Just drop off the illegal immigrants in every corner of the country and stretch ALL of our charities and government organizations to the max? That was Obama’s plan. Contact your Congress members and Senators and voice your displeasure (politely, please).
Liberals and the left-wing courts are to blame here. This needs to be fixed immediately. There is no time to waste.
