California’s blatant attack on law abiding firearms owners.

 In 2nd Amendment

No one that I have seen has put this together, to show just how out of touch the state of California really is.  On May 18, 2017, Patrick Mcgreevy of the LA times writes “Senate supports loosening sentencing mandate for gun crime.” The report reads:

“Current law says anyone who uses a gun in committing a felony must have their sentence increased by 10 years or more in prison on top of the penalty for the felony. The proposal is to lift that mandate.”

So you’re telling me that the “virtuous” state of California, after all of its ‘virtue signaling,’ and ‘moral high grounding,’ is getting easier on criminal offenders that use firearms while committing felonies? Yep, that’s exactly what is happening.  This legislation does nothing but encourage people to use firearms in the commission of crimes.

This very same state boasts the highest number of gun control laws in the country, with a WHOPPING 104, as of 2016, per www.statefirearmlaws.org.  The contradiction is astounding. What is the point of having all of those gun laws if you are just going to be soft on sentencing the people who violate them? Are you just encouraging criminals

to use firearms while committing crime as State Sen. Joel Anderson (R-San Diego) said?

“Our constituents deserve better from us than encouraging people to use guns in the commission of a crime,” -Sen. Anderson

But wait it gets worse.  On June 15th, 2017 according to www.americanjournalreview.com, this very same California state senate voted 28-8 to “exempt itself from state gun laws.” Yes, the same people that write all the laws that strip its constituents of their second amendment rights, DO NOT HAVE TO FOLLOW the very laws they wrote.  What kind of message does that send?

The people of California should be furious.  Their Lawmakers have made perfectly clear that their gun laws are targeting law abiding citizens.  They voted themselves above the law and voted for lesser sentencing for criminals using firearms to commit crimes. All the while, they handcuff the law abiding citizen with the strongest anti-gun legislation in the country. What kind of hypocritical leaders have the blue state of California elected? If I lived there, well, I wouldn’t.

You can not legislate away gun crime.  It simply does not work.  If you need proof look no further then the cities of LA, Chicago and Detroit.  So what DOES work?  Be tough on crime.  If you commit a crime in this country while using a firearm you should be buried under the prison.  That is how you lower firearm related crime in this country.  But, for as long as states like California remain soft on crime, too afraid, and too big of cowards to face the REAL problems, we will be faced with senseless gun laws that jeopardize the people’s ability to keep themselves safe and maintain a free state.  Control is their true objective, NOT safety.
