Bronx Meeting: Two Military Veterans Walk Out on AOC for “Bashing America.”
A closed door Bronx meeting with community leaders for Community Board 11 (CB11) on Wednesday ended in two military veterans and another gentleman walking out on AOC- Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Why? She continually bashed America and the President.
The Bronx meeting was supposed to talk about local concerns.
“She knocks the country, she knocks the president. And that’s not what America is about.” Silvio Mazzella, 74, a Vietnam War veteran and treasurer of Community Board 11.
“I just couldn’t hear her BS anymore. I just got up, got my umbrella in my hand and walked right out. ” Anthony Vitaliano, 78, Army veteran and former NYPD officer for 38 years.
Another man, who didn’t want his name published, was “revolted” when she called both Trump and Netanyahu “autocrats” and proceeded to bash Israel as well as America. He left too. Her district includes large numbers of Jewish voters.
She advocates getting rid of Columbus Day when her district includes a large segment of Italian voters.
Of course, in keeping with the leftist lies, AOC’s spokesman, Corbin Trent claimed that no one left the meeting except one person who “had to go pick up their children.”
“That’s bulls–t. Everybody that was there knows I walked out.” Anthony Vitaliano
When a question about Yemen was asked, AOC launched into complaining about the US foreign policy of sending bombs to Saudi Arabia, but never mentioned the other nations involved in it.
On domestic issues:
Earlier, board members complained about problems with the US Postal Service, which regularly misses mail deliveries, and a local Amtrak property that is a magnet for graffiti vandals. CB 11 is a working-class neighborhood on the eastern side of the Bronx covering Allerton, Morris Park, Pelham Gardens and Van Nest. In addition to parts of the Bronx, Ocasio-Cortez’s district includes north-central Queens.
Attendees said she wrote down those concerns, but the “Jury’s still out” on whether or not anything will change.
AOC rarely goes into her district, according to the New York Post. Although she did go there on Friday to bartend for a few hours at a swanky upscale venue in Jackson Heights, Queens, to advocate for higher wages.
It will be interesting to see if she is re-elected at the end of her term.
