Barack Obama Lies About American Gun Laws While on Foreign Soil

 In Foreign

Barack Obama lies. Nowhere was that more evident than a speech he gave in Sao Paolo, Brazil where he stated:

“Some of you may be aware our gun laws in the United States don’t make much sense. Anybody can buy any weapon any time — without much if any regulation, they can buy it over the Internet, they can buy machine guns.” Barack Obama

Here’s the video:

In that video, Barack Obama lies to a foreign audience. Why? Did he have a plan to destabilize it? Their new President, Jair Bolsonaro, has moved to loosen some of the gun regulations for citizens in that country.

No, just anyone can’t buy machine guns in the United States, there is a long process, even IF the person is allowed to do so. Also a plethora of states have extremely rigid gun control laws, which Obama full well knows. So why the lies? What is he up to?

Stephen Gutkowski, a firearms instructor and staff writer for the Free Beacon explained:

First, the sale of new fully-automatic firearms was effectively banned in 1986 under the Hughes Amendment.

In practice, while there are several hundred thousand legally-registered fully-automatic firearms in the US, they’re very hard to obtain. Beyond the registration process, which can take up to 9 months to complete, the price of fully-automatic firearms is extremely hig

However, in order to obtain a legal fully-automatic firearm you must apply to the ATF, pay a $200 tax, & register with the ATF

Fully-automatic firearms that were registered under the National Firearms Act before 1986 were grandfathered in & are still legal.

The point is, you can’t just waltz out and buy one. There ARE regulations, as there are with purchasing ANY firearm in the United States. He’s deliberately deceiving.

The Washington Free Beacon noted:

In 2015, Obama said something similar to his remarks in Brazil by claiming “it’s easier for you to buy a handgun and clips than it is for you to buy a fresh vegetable.” A year later, he said “it is easier for a teenager to buy a Glock than get his hands on a computer or even a book.” The Washington Post challenged Obama’s claims about the ease of procuring a gun:

Literally speaking, not all states allow people under 21 years old to buy a handgun. And as far as we know, there’s no minimum age or a background check required to get a book or use the computer for free at a public library.

Obama has made a habit of dissing the United States wherever he goes, and has done so from the moment he was elected President. But he’s not the President anymore, so why does he continue doing it? He is likely trying to cause instability both in the countries he speaks in and the United States.

If somehow the liberals manage a white house victory in 2020 I’m sure his rhetoric will switch to a more positive American opinion. Proving once again that the Democrats are about party and not the people.
