AOC Trolled by Billboards in NYC: Thanks for Nothing, AOC!
AOC, or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been trolled by a Conservative company has been poking at her for pushing Amazon out of the city, according to the Daily Wire. She’s bragged about ruining the deal. But NYC lost 25,000 high paying jobs, and even the Mayor and Governor aren’t happy with her. The Job Creation Network has been poking at her with billboards in Times Square. And not just once: now it’s twice. Someone is having fun, but it’s probably not Ocasio-Cortez.
The first billboard read:
25,000 Lost NYC Jobs
$4 Billion in Lost Wages
$12 Billion in Lost Economic Activity for NY
Thanks For Nothing, AOC!
A picture of the billboard was tweeted by Laura Ingraham. Ocasio-Cortez responded by calling it a “wack” billboard, according to the New York Post.
“Few things effectively communicate the power we’ve built in fighting dark money & anti-worker policies like billionaire-funded groups blowing tons of cash on wack billboards (this one is funded by the Mercers). (PS fact that it’s in Times Sq tells you this isn’t for/by NYers.)” AOC

Soooo, the job creation Network hit her again, this time with a second billboard.
Mayor De Blasio schooled her on how tax breaks work, because she didn’t seem to understand the basics. But she arrogantly hangs on to her socialist Utopian ideas. Amazon reportedly pulled out of the New York deal because of AOC and her cronies whose hostility made it untenable. And she defends herself:
Frankly, the knee-jerk reaction assuming that I “don’t understand” how tax giveaways to corps work is disappointing.— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) February 19, 2019
No, it’s not possible that I could come to a different conclusion. The debate *must* be over my intelligence & understanding, instead of the merits of the deal.
Gov Cuomo issued this statement :
Amazon chose to come to New York because we are the capital of the world and the best place to do business. We competed in and won the most hotly contested national economic development competition in the United States, resulting in at least 25,000-40,000 good paying jobs for our state and nearly $30 billion dollars in new revenue to fund transit improvements, new housing, schools and countless other quality of life improvements. Bringing Amazon to New York diversified our economy away from real estate and Wall Street, further cementing our status as an emerging center for tech and was an extraordinary economic win not just for Queens and New York City, but for the entire region, from Long Island to Albany’s nanotech center.
However, a small group politicians put their own narrow political interests above their community — which poll after poll showed overwhelmingly supported bringing Amazon to Long Island City — the state’s economic future and the best interests of the people of this state. The New York State Senate has done tremendous damage. They should be held accountable for this lost economic opportunity.
The fundamentals of New York’s business climate and community that attracted amazon to be here – our talent pool, world-class education system, commitment to diversity and progressivism – remain and we won’t be deterred as we continue to attract world class business to communities across New York State.
So was she right? Was there “dark money” involved? Most likely, it is New York City, after all. But she’s alienated even liberal, “friendly” voices. She’s far more dangerous than we give her credit- someone is pushing her to the top, just as they did Barack Obama. He came out of nowhere. AOC came out of nowhere.
The majority of donations to her campaign came from under $200 donors that don’t have to be named, according to Open Secrets. She’s given her boyfriend (not a family member) an email account and listed him as a “staff member.” While family members are given access to a member’s calendar, listing them as staff members is a no no.
