Adelphi University LaCrosse – Bringing Trump to the Field

 In Domestic

Adelphi University Men’s Lacrosse team has been entering the playing field to music with President Trump’s words of inspiration on it. They’ve been doing it since at least April, according to news reports. But since they will be in the Lacrosse NCAA playoffs on Saturday, they will not be allowed to use the music, because it has to be “neutral.”

Adelphi University is a private college in Garden City, New York. Their LaCrosse team has been a top seed in their division.

Newsday reported,

The music won’t be played Saturday,” Adelphi spokesman Kali Chan said. “We’re following mandated NCAA policy for playoff games.”

According to section 7.9 of the NCAA Division II men’s lacrosse tournament host manual, “no team provided warm-up music is permissible.” The rules state the host team must provide “neutral music.”

The video showing the team’s entrance has been viewed over 730,000 times (and counting) on Instagram.

“In all of our cities and in all of our towns, I make this promise: We will make America strong again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And we will make America great again! God bless you and good night. I love you!” President Trump

Not everyone was happy about their use of a portion of a political speech to enter the field, but if Colin Kaepernick can waste an entire season of NFL football being negative, what’s wrong with a team having a positive outlook? (Kaepernick’s still not signed to a team, by the way. Maybe he can flip burgers at McDonalds. Of course you can’t get down on your knees there, it’s unsanitary.)

Lacrosse as a sport has been criticized for years as “too white” or “too rich.” They won’t be able to come on the field to the words of President Trump for the playoffs, but we hope they do some good butt-kicking on the field Saturday. #MAGA
