An 8 yr Old’s Christmas Wish – Cards to Decorate his Room

 In Domestic

Last year 8 year old Andrew Little only received 4 Christmas cards. His wish this year is to receive enough cards to decorate his room at St. Joseph Home of Cincinnati. He suffers from transverse myelitis and is a quadriplegic.

“I like them because they’re great!” Andrew to the Sharonville Fire Department

Word of his Christmas wish has been traveling around the net. The Sharonville Fire Department heard about it and brought him a big card and some Ninja Turtle bedsheets! His Grandmother, Alyson Little said he couldn’t stop talking about all of that…and the giant red fire truck.

“When he gets a card, he always asks who it’s from and he always remember every time I come to see him, ‘do I have a card?'” Alyson Little

From the Facebook page Andrew Little Has a Wish:

“Andrew is an 8 yr old, 2nd grader living in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Andrew loves music, Star Wars and super hero’s although he does have a soft spot in heart for the “bad guys”. His favorite football players are A.J. Green and Andrew Whitworth both of the Cincinnati Bengals, he also admires Tim Tebow. His favorite actor is Dwayne Johnson Aka The Rock. Andrew enjoys watching movies, singing and of course tormenting his older sister Aubrey.”

Andrew’s mother died in 2012, so he is being raised by his grandparents. He is living at the St. Joseph Home in Cincinnati where he can be cared for 24/7.

It only takes a few minutes to fill out a Christmas card. Why not make Christmas special for this 2nd grader!

Send those cards to:

Transverse Myelitis according to the NIH:

Transverse myelitis is a neurological disorder caused by inflammation across both sides of one level, or segment, of the spinal cord. The term myelitis refers to inflammation of the spinal cord; transverse simply describes the position of the inflammation, that is, across the width of the spinal cord. Attacks of inflammation can damage or destroy myelin, the fatty insulating substance that covers nerve cell fibers. This damage causes nervous system scars that interrupt communications between the nerves in the spinal cord and the rest of the body.
