2019 Elections – What this Means for 2020

 In Politics

For those who are worried sick about Kentucky and Virginia going Democrat in the 2019 elections, don’t listen to the lies of the leftwing media. They are coming up with some doozies this morning, and they are unwarranted. But the results do have meaning – and they mean that Republicans must get off their collective a**** and get to work before the 2020 elections, particularly in the suburbs and cities.

The “Anti-Trump Wave” – Nope, not really.

The GOP candidate in Kentucky, Incumbent Matt Bevin, was in trouble long before the election, in spite of the last minute push by President Trump. The President helped him, otherwise he would have lost by a wider margin. The race was too close to call up until the very last second.  Bevin was on the list of the most unpopular governors in the nation before the 2019 election. He was only the 3rd Republican governor of Kentucky since WWII.

It was not an “upset” victory by Democrats. Roll Call also stated that the impeachment issue is not a “silver bullet” for Republicans.

The new Kentucky Attorney General is a Black Republican Conservative: Daniel Cameron.

President Trump’s rally helped five of six Kentucky Republicans win clear statewide victories, including Attorney General-elect Daniel Cameron, who will be the first black A.G. in Kentucky history and the first Republican to hold the office since 1948. The President just about dragged Gov. Matt Bevin across the finish line, helping him run stronger than expected in what turned into a very close race at the end. A final outcome remains to be seen.” Brad Parscale, Trump Campaign Manager (Fox)

Virginia

Democrats dumped literally millions of dollars into the Virginia races. The result is that both of Virginia’s legislative houses flipped to Democrat blue. Incumbent Democrat Ralph Northam is term-limited – the VA gubernatorial election is in 2021.

Mississippi 2019 elections

The Republican Attorney General will be Lynn Fitch, the state’s first female AG.  Republican Tate Reeves won the gubernatorial election in spite of massive amounts of Democrat money coming in for his challenger.

The moral of the story is that underhanded tricks, money, and media lies DO cause difficulties for candidates. But polls are riddled with flaws and outright incorrect assumptions, so don’t listen to them. President Trump won in 2016 against EVERY poll out there.

Next year Mitch McConnell is up for reelection. Yes, he’s a RINO. But having a Democrat in his place would be a complete disaster. There are 435 seats up for grabs in the House, and 34 in the Senate.

Get off your duff and don’t stay home on voting days. Go pick up your Amish neighbors and anyone else that needs a ride –  take them to the polls on election day. Don’t listen to the idea that everything is hopeless because the Democrats are “sweeping” the elections. They are NOT sweeping anything except truth under the rug.
